Thank you

I just wanted to say thank you for all the great comments today. We have been so encouraged by them. We are in true amazement at the amount of people that have looked at this site. We really have no idea as to God's plan from here. We know that He has one that is perfect. Please keep the comments coming. They have been such a help to all of us today.

I am suppose to be in a preparing to tell the parable of the talents to a room of kindergarten's, 1st and 2nd graders. I have thought a lot about this today. My dad was given so much talent and he, like the first two servants, worked to make the talents he was given be so much more. He did so much for so many.

Please remember that through all of this and no matter what else comes any of our ways God is good!

your parents have been my parents best friends ever since i can remember. they are so loving and generous and have done so much for our family over the years. i was thinking about your dad today and remembering the week of my wedding, when they flew up early to help prepare for everything. your dad & i were sitting on the steps at the church by ourselves (for whatever reason, i don't remember) and i said, i hope it doesn't rain on saturday. and he, knowing the forecast and that it was not looking good, said, "my dear i think you should just hope it doesn't rain that MUCH." he was trying to let me down gently! what a gentle and wonderful man, loved by so many and he will be missed so much. i wish i could come to texas to see you all right now. you are in my thoughts and prayers. love, sarah

I read this in my study today and thought it may be encouraging.

"My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts" (Isa. 55:8-9)

Make a special note of the word like. God's thoughs are not our thoughts, nor are then even like ours. We aren't even in the same neighborhood. We're thinking, Preserve the body; he's thinking, Save the soul. We dream of a pay raise. He dreams of raising the dead. We avoid pain and seek peace. God uses pain to bring peace. "I'm going to live before I die," we resolve. "Die so you can live, " he instructs. We love what rusts. He loves what endures. We rejoice at our successes. He rejoices at our confessions. We show our children the Nike star with the million dollar smile and say, "Be like Mike." God points to the crucified carpenter with bloody lips and a torn side and says, "Be like Christ."

Our thought are not like God's thoughts. Our ways are not like his ways. He has a different agenda. He dwells in a different dimension. He lives on another plan...

How vital that we pray, armed with the knowledge that God is in heaven. Pray with any lesser conviction and our prayers are timid, shallow, and hollow. Look up and see what God has done, and watch how your prayers are energized.

This knowledge gives us confidence as we face the uncertain future. We know that he is in control of the universe, and so we can rest secure. But important also is the knowledge that this God in heaven has chosen to bend near toward earth to see our sorrow and hear our prayers. He is not so far above us that he is not touched by our tears.

Though we may not be able to see his purpose or his plan, the Lord of heaven is on his throne and in firm control of the universe and our lives. So we entrust him with our future. We entrust him with our lives. (From America Looks Up by Max Lucado) Jeni (Melanee's sister)

Dear Becky and family,
We are praying for all of you during this sad time. We have such fond memories of Frank when we all went to Faith Baptist.

I will miss him so much. He was the most wonderful man. Not 1 person out there could ever fill the shoes that he wore. He was the most understanding person. I couldn't have ever asked for a better person as my boss. I will never forget the morning I called him to let him know I was running late, not as late as I thought though. I showed up 5 minutes after 8 and he said I thought you were going to be late. That made me feel better. When my daughters came to the office, Frank's office was the first one my 6 year old would stop at and make sure she said hello. He is and forever will be missed by my girls and I.

Frank will be missed by all here for his leadership, vision, and his impeccable character. He always had the time and patience to help with any financial issue that was brought to his attention. He is one who led by example, and let his walking do the talking. I am certain that he is in a much better place than any of us find ourselves, and it will be nice to one day see him again. Your family is very much in my thoughts and prayers, but I believe you are already at peace with his passing, though grieving for the loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family, especially your mom. I miss Frank and Becky, they were both so kind to me and my boys in Lake Jackson.

To Becky and Kids,

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I work for GSI and with Frank for many years.
He was truly a remarkable person. I learned a lot from Frank. Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you.
